Landscape Design Assistant
From a young age I always knew I wanted to be in a profession where I could work with my hands to create things. I grew up in a small beach side community in Southern California and spent most of my childhood outside at the beach, horseback riding, or helping my mom in her extensive garden.
I earned my B.A. in Environmental Studies at the University of California Santa Barbara where I learned to appreciate our beautiful planet and how to become an environmental steward. Following my graduation, I stayed in Santa Barbara for a couple more years to complete my Certificate in Green Building and Sustainable Design. Soon after I moved to Berkeley, CA where I lived for the next 5 years. While in the Bay Area, I worked as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Homes Green Rater on multifamily new construction projects. During this time, I still felt like something was missing from my professional life and that I had yet to find my true calling. Through my role as a green rater, I was exposed to the different design professions and I quickly realized that Landscape Architecture was the thing that I had been searching for all these years. So, I decided to go back to school again to pursue and complete my Certificate of Landscape Architecture from the University of California Berkeley.
Life eventually brought me to the PNW where I now get to be a part of creating beautiful outdoor spaces for our wonderful clients. Since moving, the crazy plant lady within has fully emerged and is so excited to continue to learn about the wonderful and amazing plants that thrive in our wet climate. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me cooking all kinds of crazy recipes, crocheting blankets for friends and family, reading comic books, and taking care of my organic garden. My husband and I regularly enjoy our weekend walks along the Sound, exploring the Western Washington forests, and fishing for squid on the Seattle Waterfront.
